For 15 years, I called Houston home.
When I got there in the time of "oil boom" you could feel the energy and excitement - in the people, in the buildings, in the swagger.
I still have many, many friends there. But after several days of awful news, nothing has made me prouder to be an adopted Texan or a Houstonian than the way they have welcomed the downtrodden people of New Orleans. Houston has a big heart and this sentimenal American just wants to say "Thanks!"
I'm beginning to feel the energy again...even from afar. I think I'll swagger a little today, too.
God bless you all!
