I hope this is not a surprise: Legislatures can make laws, overrule courts

Why this deserves a headline is probably worth looking into as an example of a failure of high school civics, but the AP bolds it as: Roberts: Congress Can Trump Court Decision
Chief Justice nominee John Roberts said Wednesday that Congress has the right to counter Supreme Court rulings including a divisive decision giving cities broad power to seize and raze people's homes for private development.

"This body and legislative bodies in the states are protectors of the people's rights," Roberts said on the third day of his confirmation hearings to be the nation's 17th chief justice.
And you thought only the courts had power? Wait until he announces the President carries out the law and is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces...
