The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) recorded at least 18 attacks since January 28 this year, the head of the Malaysia-based Piracy Reporting Centre, Noel Choong, told AFP on Tuesday.
"Basically there have been 18 attacks in Chittagong since 28 January 2006, but we believe many more may have gone unreported," said Choong.
"We believe that there are groups of pirates operating in the area. We are warning ships that enter the area to be extra vigilant. We are concerned about the high number of attacks in that location."
"We must be ready to dare all for our country. For history does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. We must acquire proficiency in defense and display stamina in purpose." - President Eisenhower, First Inaugural Address
