The hunt for new business or new clients is never ending, the benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans that come from an employer are yours alone to fund and the record-keeping associated with all of it can be overwhelming -- especially if you are doing everything from your kitchen table.

On the other hand, people who work for "real" companies and firms think you get to sit around in your pajamas and play video games.

Little do they know how much self-discipline it takes to run a small business. And it's really hard to get away from the boss, too.
