No fewer than six vessels and a yet to be ascertained number of persons alleged to have been involved in crude oil theft and sea piracy in and around Lagos water ways were recently arrested by naval officers attached to the Western Naval Command.
Though the identities of the suspects could not be ascertained as at the time this report was filed, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ishaya Ibrahim, said some of the suspects have since been handed over to the police while others were still being investigated to know their degree of involvement.
