During the reporting period from 20 – 26 Oct 11 piracy activity in the Arabian Sea and Somali Basin has stagnated. There was one incident of suspicious activity in the Bab Al Mandeb (BAM), as well as three reports of suspicious activity and one attack in the Somali Basin. There was a successful disruption in the southern Somali basin of one whaler and one skiff about 120 nm off the Kenyan coast.It's not that there are not some suspicious boats out there, the report notes, it just, well, not much is happening.
Good news. But, as always, keep one eye open.
