"We must be ready to dare all for our country. For history does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. We must acquire proficiency in defense and display stamina in purpose." - President Eisenhower, First Inaugural Address

Saturday's Film: Building Thule AFB - "Operation Blue Jay"
America's front line in the 1950's on Danish "soil" in Greenland:
I have watched this before. My dad was an air-sea rescue pilot at Thule in 1954-55. Flew H19s and SA16. They even had a B-17 in the hangar. Lots of pictures and some film. I'm actually working on a film about the building of Thule and its mission in the 1950s juxtaposed with its role today as a scientific research station for climate.
I remember watching these. Along with Navy Log and the Silent Service.
