Friday Fun Film: "Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor (1936)"
What can I say?
It's Friday, the world is a mess.*
We need a hero.
Time for Popeye to do his thing:
*Not an unusual situation - here's a Sheldon Harnick song that dates back about a half a century or more:
The Merry Minuet music is from the Kingston Tro done at the Purple Onion in san francisco around 1961. My favorite song of theirs. It still rings true after all these decades. However, listen to the audience they are laughing at it all. Who would believe back then how much the world and America would be reduced to wankers. In less than 50 years. And because of this why was it SO important to have won WWII, if it has been thrown away like it has over the last 50 years? Another question never to be answered, ever. Heltau
