Ah, yes, among the things that can kill you on a ship:

  1. I wonder how many times I have seen this film, bet it was at least a hundred times.
I am counting the times that I was in the room where it was being shown, but my eyes were closed.

Kind of weird how Joe keeps coming back to get those 115 volts!

I was an IC/3 and had to show this film to every division on the ship including officers and chiefs. It was required to be shown every 6 months. You can imagine how boring it was to show this damn film. Will one day the IC gang had to show the film to E division, our own division. We spliced in a porn flick half way through the film to wake everyone up. Well guess who walked in just before the porn flick? Our division officer and chief. After the film was finished the division officer asked who was responsible for this film, I answered it was my fault and was ready to accept responsibility and the consequences. He pulled me aside and said I want you to show this to the officers and chiefs, thought I was going to be in a lot of trouble, but as it turned out had to show the film over and over again anyway. This happened on the USS Prairie AD-15 around 1968 .
