"We must be ready to dare all for our country. For history does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. We must acquire proficiency in defense and display stamina in purpose." - President Eisenhower, First Inaugural Address

Saturday Is Old Radio Day: CBS Mystery Theater "Bottom of the World (1977)"
Thanks, Ron, all is good. Had just returned from a cruise on a Lindblad/NatGeo ship in the Inland Passage of Alaska via a series of "red-eye" flights so was not really up to speed on events. Sal did a great job and I did call in at one point. The show was his because had been there in AFG and could speak to the frustration and concerns of the AFG vets far better than I could. My hope is that those concerns insure we don't forget the lessons learned and also recall the Vietnam frustrations as we move ahead. The generations who served over the 20 year span of our AFG experience may be able to focus their energy to set up better approaches for the future.
I hope you do not mind the comment
ReplyDeleteJust finished Midrats, one of Sal’s best but you were missed. I don’t know why you were absent though it is none of my business.
Regardless, I offer you my best wishes and hope that all is as well as it can be.
Would like to think that you are back on the AT, but know that you mentioned that is postponed for some time.
